Question: Are you aware of the details of the talks between the European Union and Ukraine?

Sergey Lavrov: When the European Union coordinated the beginning of its talks with Ukraine, Hungary insisted on obliging Ukraine to fulfil everything which is required under international conventions with respect to ethnic minorities.

Yesterday I talked by telephone with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. He confirmed to me that they had insisted on the wording which refers not only to the Hungarian minority (which they care about above all, which is understandable) but to all ethnic minorities resident in Ukraine.

It is interesting to see how the European Union will be getting ready for the talks with Ukraine, specifically regarding this direct requirement, which has been flagrantly violated by the Poroshenko and Zelensky regimes. We shall see.
