Winners of international Olympiads, whether Russian citizens or compatriots living abroad who do not hold Russian citizenship, are eligible for university admission without entrance exams

The President signed Federal Law On Amending Article 71 of the Federal Law On Education in the Russian Federation and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.

The Federal Law grants the right to be admitted to bachelor's and specialist degree programmes, without having to take entrance examinations, to members of national teams from foreign countries who are winners and prize winners of international Olympiads in general education subjects, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. This applies to both Russian citizens and compatriots living abroad who do not hold Russian citizenship. The admission right remains valid for four years following the year of the Olympiad and is applicable to specialties or areas of training that correspond to the profile of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren or an international Olympiad.
