On July 30, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, Qatar's Minister of State at the Foreign Ministry, now staying on a working visit in Moscow.

During their conversation, the ministers discussed in detail topical issues regarding the future sustained development of diverse Russia-Qatar relations, including expanded trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

While exchanging opinions on key issues of the Middle East agenda, they focused on objectives of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In this context, the ministers reaffirmed the interest of Moscow and Doha in continuing close foreign policy coordination in the bilateral format and at various international platforms.

That same day, the Foreign Ministry hosted detailed consultations between Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, and Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov.
